Thesis Title: Exploring the Impact of Spirituality, Hopelessness, Depression, and Anxiety on the Life Satisfaction of Individuals with a Terminal Illness

About

On the academic level, I have long been interested in the impact that physical and mental illness has on the individual's psychological well-being, and the implications for the effective delivery of healthcare. In order to support this interest, my undergraduate research dissertation investigates the role that psychological well-being plays in terminal illness. This explores the importance of constructs such as age, anxiety, depression, cognitive impairment, spirituality and hopelessness, and their impact that they have upon life satisfaction.

As a researcher, my main focus lies within the field of my dissertation. However, I am also interested in the effects of chronic conditions on well-being, along with advancing my knowledge of complex multivariate statistical techniques, including but not limited to structural equation modelling and exploratory factor analysis. I also am interested into ADHD, and other psycho-social conditions, including anxiety an depression.

I have recently become interested in taking up a masters and prospective doctoral studies in clinical health psychology, with a potential research area being the psychological implications of fibromyalgia.
