About
My research interests fall into a number of categories. First of all I am a medievalist. Next to Middle English Drama, I am particularly interested in naming within Old English poetry and the cognitive processes that are associated with it. My focus thus far has been on names for God and for the devil, and further work on representations of both has become an interest in teaching and research. I am also interested in cognitive approaches to Old English poetic diction as a whole - and in extension in Cognitive Stylistics and Poetics.
On a more contemporary level, I am involved in a texting project. We aim to create an accessible corpus of text messages in English on a global scale. For this we need (anonymous) donations. As we are very much at the beginning, any donation or promotion of the project is appreciated. Finally, as part of my teaching life and now also as part of my research, I am interested in wikis, especially in their ability to promote and teach reflective non-linear thinking.
